Palmetto Hall is a strictly residential community. One of the few plantations to allow its 550 members to own private carts for transportation, this area is the second plantation on the left just off the William Hilton Parkway. As one of Hilton Head’s youngest, Palmetto Hall is 750 acres’ worth of private golfing neighborhood with a 24-hour security system including gated access.
Palmetto Hall is another plantation community of Greenwood Development Corporation. GDC purchased the land around the same time as it acquired Palmetto Dunes and the Shelter Cove area. Palmetto Hall Plantation has single-family homes in a plantation setting with security, golf, and tennis.
Palmetto Hall Plantation Club offers the best of Hilton Head Island’s southern charm. The 14,000 square foot Clubhouse, with double porches and sweeping views of manicured greens, is the centerpiece of the relaxing oasis of Palmetto Hall Plantation Club.

Opened in 1991, this Arthur Hills course was instantly named a classic by Golf Digest Magazine, which rated it among America’s Top 10 New Courses. The course has since received a 4 star rating and is listed as one of 2008-09’s “Best Places to Play.”
Heavily wooded with towering pines and moss-draped oaks, the lush fairways roll past crystalline lakes. Protected greens, edged with bunkers, provide golfers with challenges, while the signature par-4 18th hole offers a daunting finish to a spectacular game.
Robert Cupp Course. Unique, Innovative, and eminently playable. The Robert Cupp course is a stunningly original design that tests the better player, but accommodates higher handicappers as well. Cupp, Golf World’s former Architect of the Year, opened his signature course at Palmetto Hall in 1993, and the course continues to draw high praise for its flexibility, sound shot values and impeccable year-round conditioning.
